Decided to go with the buzz cut. Also some more MRI pictures for your enjoyment

It's not often one gets a good excuse to get a buzz cut so I decided to go with it. I like the low maintenance perspective.

I began physical therapy yesterday to improve my strength and stamina. They had me doing a variety of exercises covering arms, legs and core for about an hour. I was wiped out. Will continue 3 times a week for then next 4 weeks.

Had an "incident" last night. I got out of bed suddenly to go in and feed Rachel a bottle and I must have gotten up too quickly because I took a couple of steps and then remember putting my hand against the wall to maintain my balance. The next thing I remember I was on the floor. Fortunately I didn't injure myself but I scared Allyson and her Mom pretty good. I'll have to get up a little more slowly from now on.

I continue to feel only slightly better each day as progress continues to be slow now. My biggest complaint is still "haziness" in my mind....I'm just not where I'm used to be as far as sharpness but again the Dr told me it may take 3-6 months for this to be completely back to normal so I need to remember to be patient and to be thankful that things have been as positive as they have been.

As promised in my last post here is a series of MRI pictures.
1st MRI - taken in the morning just before the first surgery. You can see how the tumor is compressing one of the ventricles - they should be symmetrical.

2nd MRI - taken just after the first surgery was stopped. You can see how the brain has swollen into the space where skull bone has been removed.

3rd MRI - taken just before surgery 2. You can see how the ventricles are already much more symmetrical

4th MRI - taken the night after surgery 2 completed...almost looks normal

  2. Patience in patients is sometimes scarce, but you have a great support group to rely on. Many years ago, my great aunt had similar issue. She was in her mid-seventies and survives to this day with full faculties. Good luck, blessings on you and your family!
